Amy ( @crackedpotts on Twitter) needs a 3Lunches coach for health, wellness, fitness in the Kansas City area. Since Amy doesn’t know a friend with the right experience for this task, I’m reaching out to see if anyone is willing to do #3Lunches with Amy.
Amy is looking for some practical coaching from someone who has knowledge and experience in the early stages of getting fit. This is a great opportunity to help someone who’s ready for change!
Amy’s Story:
I was married for 14 years and enjoyed playing tennis, biking and an occasional run. Sometimes I made guest appearances at the local gyms, as time and finances would allow. My first husband died of cancer in 1998. As grief gave way to deep depression and really the darkest time in my life, I slowly but surely gave up. It’s interesting that I didn’t recognize the physical activity or lack thereof contributing to the depression, but it did. After about eight years of just waking up to “do life”. I decided that I didn’t want people to know me as a depressed widow. I’m by nature a very optimistic person and I wanted that life back. Many blanks could be filled in here, but most important is that once I embraced that inner optimist again I wanted to become a living exclamation point. I remarried two years ago and I’m crazy about my husband! But because of those dark years, I put on a lot of weight and now it seems overwhelming to consider losing it and getting back to the physical activities at the level I once enjoyed. So, here I am. I think I’ve got the optimism part down, now I just need help to get over this physical hurdle.
Whoever ends up doing 3Lunches with Amy, read the “Table Manners” section on this site for guidance.
Let us know how it goes! And good luck Amy!
